Samo's love for the mountains started in his childhood, sparked by the books of Slovenian alpinists like Tomaž Humar and Silvo Karo. He found their Himalayan adventures so inspiring that he dedicated himself to summiting the Slovenian Alps. During his college years, he made his first ascents as an alpinist, which brought him closer to his childhood idols. These days, he devotes his time to trail running but remains a frequent visitor of the mountains.

Hey, I'm Samo. Let me introduce you to the story behind Norway Hut to Hut Hiking.
Like every great adventure, we started small, with a close-knit group of young, enthusiastic hikers who loved nothing more than spending our days in nature.
While I’m usually the first person you’ll hear from – replying to your emails or chatting with you on a video call to help pick the perfect trail – I’m really just the starting point.
Behind me is a whole team of hikers, travel advisors, and route planners who live and breathe the trails we send you on.
From Local Trails to Worldwide Adventures
Based in Slovenia, where the Julian Alps begin just beyond our doorstep, it felt only natural to start sharing the beauty of our homeland—and eventually, the world—with others.
What started as a small initiative has grown into something far bigger.
As more and more travellers joined our hikes, our team expanded too, bringing in destination experts, trail planners, route designers, and a behind-the-scenes support team.
Step by step, our hiking portfolio grew beyond Slovenia, across Europe, and eventually to the most scenic trails in Asia and the Americas. With so many epic journeys under our belt, it became clear that we needed one united identity to bring it all together.
That’s how Hiking Tours was born: an umbrella brand uniting our most beloved, five-star-rated adventures around the world.

Samo – Lead Travel Advisor
Anja - Travel Agent
Anja's journey into the mountains shifted from occasional visits to genuine love. A rock-climbing course also inspired her to join her friends on climbing and bouldering day trips and weekend getaways. Though she says she prefers the warmth of sunsets, she'll begrudgingly wake up for sunrises if there's coffee involved! Her little secret is that she hasn't summited Triglav yet, so her license as a 'true Slovenian' is still pending.
Lan – Travel Agent
When he was seven, Lan reached the summit of Triglav with his father, and the experience cemented his love for the mountains. He is still chasing that feeling today, on foot or his touring skis. In addition to his passion for hiking, Lan is an enthusiastic boulderer and a certified sport climbing coach. After work, he often dedicates his time to managing a local bouldering gym in Ljubljana and sharing his knowledge with others.
Nina - Travel Agent
Nina didn’t grow up with hiking boots on—but once she gave it a proper shot in her twenties, she got hooked. These days, she’s always squeezing in a hike—whether it’s somewhere in the Julian Alps or along some random cliff trail she found in Portugal. Now, she’s all about chasing that feeling of freedom, unplugging from the world, and collecting mental snapshots instead of phone photos. Fresh air, good views, and a bit of leg burn? That’s her kind of reset.
Finn
Hungry for our lunch leftovers and hikes with his owner, the office dog Finn is our key member. As a certified Search and Rescue (SAR) dog, his adorable snout is not only trained to sniff out who brought snacks to the office but also to help find those who wandered off the trail. Always full of energy, he loves exploring the world. His proudest achievement was strutting around at an elevation of over 3000 meters on Maltatal.
